Our Programs and Services

Currently, the main programs and services at Life and Hope Rehabilitation Organization include:

Education , Advocancy and Awareness

LHRO provides public education and awareness on the effects of drug use and HIV&AIDS to reduce HIV and other health harms. This is done through online platforms, community radios and televisions, seminars, school clubs and through

National and International exhibitions and congregations.

Mental Health Awareness

Our mission is to create better structural conditions that support mental well-being. We strive to strengthen how young people build meaningful connections, challenge stigma and discrimination, and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to take greater control of their mental health.

Ensuring easier access to services that promote well-being and help prevent the onset of mental health challenges is a vital part of our approach. We actively foster collaboration among key stakeholders from various sectors that influence the mental health of young people.

To accomplish this, we focus on developing young people’s emotional, social, and practical skills, helping them navigate challenges such as interpersonal violence, cyberbullying, and privacy concerns. We provide safe spaces and essential services that empower them to cope and thrive.

Furthermore, we aim to enhance understanding and support for mental health by building stronger relationships between young people and their families, educators, and communities.

Rehabilitation Center

LHRO provides support through recovery programs for substance abuse (including marijuana, khati, heroine, cocaine and alcohol) through its Life and Hope Bagamoyo and Mbeya sober house

Family Therapy

LHRO provides counselling and therapy to families whose patients are in treatment. The education focuses on teaching families how to live with the recovered addicts after completion of a program to rescue them from the risks of relapses.

HIV&AIDS Interventions

LHRO advocates for and build awareness in the communities to prevent transmission of HIV infections, promote HTS, advocate for ART adherence, demand creation and distribute condoms in the streets and hot spot areas.LHRO has already distributed more than 2500 condoms to vulnerable populations and marginalised groups, including youth, fisher fox, truck drivers,PWUD , FSW and PLHIV.

Entrepreneurship Skills and Vocational Training

LHRO in collaboration with SIDO and VETA, undertakes to economically empower the recovered and recovering addicts by providing them with vocational training and entrepreneurship skills that help them to engage in Income Generating Activities (IGAs) when they get back to the communities after completion of the rehabilitation program. This reduces the risks to relapses, reduces stigma and discrimination and enhances social security and safety.

Working with Adolescent Age Issues and Behavioral Change

We deal with issues of adolescent issues related to gender-based violence , sexual abuse and limited access to health care and education, coupled with systems and policies that do not address the needs of young people, and obstacles that block

Adolescent girls and young women (AGYM) and boys and young men Adolescent ( ABYM) from being able to protect themselves against HIV transmission and drug abuse, particularly as they transition into adulthood.
